As I read this verse, I thought of the promise that He gave to His beloved disciples: “I will see you again.” It’s just one little part of one verse in a large book, but it holds all of the hope in the world.
I will see you again.
The Lord doesn’t lie. He’s spotless and blameless, perfect.
When He told His disciples that they would see Him again, they did.
When He told the maimed man to rise and walk- he did. When He told Lazarus to rise again- Jesus gave life back to the man who had lost it. And Lazarus rose.
I will see you again. The words give hope to my heart and joy to my soul.
It is a promise that is just as applicable now as it was then.
In Luke 21:27, we read: “At that time, they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up, and lift your head because your redemption is drawing near.”
What a beautiful, sacred, and glorious day that will be! I don’t think there are adequate words to express the joy that we will feel on that day, at that moment. Only the Father knows the day and the hour(Matthew 24:36), but we can rest in that beautiful promise that it WILL happen.
But we cannot rest in our actions. In Luke 21:36, we are reminded to: “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
Have hope- we will see our Savior again!
Love,
Amber
